We bought an island and a Cessna 185 on floats last year. Our beloved aerostar has to go. C-GNLX. ex N65DT (lots of stuff written on this airplane on www.aerostar-owners.com - search under "Don Shapansky" the former owner).

This is a nice 1979 aerostar superstar II. Eric Krueger took it completely apart and installed all his modifications when the airplane only had 2000 hours TT. The owner at the time reportedly wanted to have the ultimate aerostar. It's a beauty to fly. My heart races when I see her on the ramp. This is a heckuva deal for someone. My wife wants an amphib Beaver. We simply don't use the aerostar anymore and are very realistic about selling price. In fact, we will sell it for less than just the cost of the avionics install! We spent a ton of money on this airplane as we wanted everything to be perfect, but it needs to be flying instead of sitting in the hangar while we spend all our time up at the island.

Canadian or U.S. registry on the aerostar. Doesn't matter and easy either way.

A note on poor misunderstood superstar II's. We deliberately picked an airframe with 350 hp J2BD engines. I have owned 2 Chieftains with the same engines and appreciate that they are real workhorses. I wanted engines that left the factory already rated at 350 hp. And I wanted a single big honking turbocharger instead of 2 small turbo's. Ask Eric about the turbo - it's what makes this the speediest of all aerostars. We cruise around at 245 knots at 65% power and you can see 270 kts if you go high and power up to 75%. With Eric's mods and some basic SOPs, these engines run cool. Always less than 380F in the climb. Cooler in cruise. And you go like stink. Talk to Eric!!!!
